About Me
Hello! My name is Laura, and I am an artist, educator, with a passion for creativity, and learning. I hold an MFA in Fine Arts, a Secondary Teaching Credential in Art, and I’m currently completing my Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology in the IDT program at CSUSB.
Throughout my career, I’ve explored how combining art, teaching, and technology can create innovative and transformative educational experiences. With the rapid development of AI and technological advancements, I believe they have the power to revolutionize teaching by encouraging collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking in ways that align with diverse learning needs.
My academic journey and professional experiences have equipped me with skills in curriculum design, collaborative learning models, and AI integration strategies. My goal is to design impactful, learner-centered solutions that align with culturally responsive teaching practices while leveraging digital tools and innovative technologies.
I aim to demonstrate how creativity, instructional design, and technology intersect to foster adaptive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments for all learners. I’m excited to explore, learn, and contribute to the evolving landscape of education through thoughtful design and innovation.
Let’s explore how we can co-create meaningful and equitable educational opportunities together.
My Reflection on IDT
I feel that I have learned a great deal about IDT. Research involves caring deeply about getting it right and finding tools and information that are relevant and engaging. Having a broad base for ideas allows for me to gain insight to fully build on information and makes it possible to create meaningful learning platforms. To be a successful IDT professional is to have ambition paired with curiosity. The history of IDT, and its continuous evolution, from calculators to computers to robotics, it is remarkable that we have such vast resources for the evolution of knowledge.
In my personal journey, I learned to research more effectively using Zotero to organize my information. I developed a new skill for hand coding with HTML, (over many hours), and I felt so successful when I finally got it! Having a set plan, where we tested our current skills, learned about new programs and devised a strategy for mastery is exactly how I incorporate my iInstructional pedagogy.
“Presently, AI in eLearning is primarily focused on personalization, adaptive learning systems, and automated content creation. These applications have significantly enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of learning by catering to individual learner needs and preferences.” (Tulsiani, 2024)
